Celebrating 75 Years of the NHS… our partner, our client, our future
A lot will be said about the National Health Service today, on its 75th anniversary, and there should be. A bit like a majestic oak tree, it has seen a lot of history and change over those years.
There have been sunny days and storms. The environment changes and evolves around it but the NHS is still standing as a monument to everything good in human nature.
And we are proud to have stood next to it for over 40 years – as a partner in woundcare and as a client in mask production during the pandemic. But importantly, seeing the NHS as a caring lifeline for our colleagues, ourselves and our families.
As we mark the 75th anniversary of the NHS, we have reflected on that incredible journey and the impact of this remarkable institution. From its inception in 1948, the NHS has become a symbol of compassion, resilience, and unwavering dedication to the health and wellbeing of the nation. At Eumar Technology, we have worked closely with the NHS as a manufacturer of healthcare supplies including woundcare products and we are proud to play a part in supporting our nation’s healthcare system.
Having weathered many storms, we then encountered the biggest in 2020; Covid-19 and our collective response to tackling the biggest challenge of our lifetime.
Rising to the challenge: Supporting the NHS during Covid-19
The emergence of the Covid-19 pandemic presented an unprecedented challenge to healthcare systems worldwide, including the NHS. As the virus spread and the demand for Type IIR facemasks skyrocketed, Eumar Technology swiftly shifted its focus to meet the urgent needs of the NHS workforce.
Recognising the critical importance of protecting frontline workers, we retooled our manufacturing capabilities to produce Type IIR masks with the fastest production line in the world – a claim of which we continue to be proud. It was a testament to the dedication and agility of our team, working tirelessly to ensure the safety of those fighting this invisible enemy.
The spirit of collaboration: a collective response
During the height of the pandemic, we witnessed an inspiring spirit of collaboration and solidarity across industries, with organisations coming together to support the NHS. At Eumar Technology, we are proud to have been part of this collective response. We worked closely with NHS procurement teams, sharing our expertise and resources to ensure a reliable supply of masks when they were most needed. It was a challenging time, but it also demonstrated the power of collaboration and the strength that emerges when we unite in the face of adversity. Working with the NHS showed us exactly the strength and purpose of the people and teams within.
Looking ahead: a renewed commitment
As we look to the future, it is clear the NHS has more storms to face and overcome – the environments in which it operates are changing fast and it has to change with it. Not an easy task.
